This series of classes creates practical applications of Ayurvedic principles in one's daily life. The core objectives are understanding daily routines for stress management, Ayurvedic nutrition, and how to view the world through the science of life. Come learn the ways of the Sadhus and Sages of India. Take a walk from the East to Ashland Ayurveda.

Five Week Panchakarma Detoxification Series

This series is similar to our outpatient Panchakarma program, except in more depth. It is a five week cleanse with weekly instruction, done in a group. In this class you will learn:

  • To determine your individual Prakriti (Constitution)
  • How to prepare a medicinal diet based on your Prakriti
  • How toxins accumulate and the most efficient way to remove them
  • How to open the channels of elimination
  • Post-cleansing procedures to improve your long-term health.

Each participant will receive a healing whole foods diet to utilize for the bulk of the five weeks. Every week new procedures will be added, such as internal oleation, external oleation, contrast hydrotherapy, clearing herbs, breathing exercises, and yoga for detoxification. Students will be instructed in the proper purification measure for their needs. The class ends with rebuilding and strengthening the tissues.

Cleansing should be done yearly, but even more important is filling that new space with high quality foods to build healthy vibrant bodies.

Introductory Ayurvedic Cooking Class

Discover the basics of Ayurvedic cooking to cook wholesome, healing food for yourself and your family. The foundations of Ayurveda -- the elements, doshas, and tastes -- will be explored in the context of constitutionally appropriate food. Each participant will learn how to prepare healing foods such as takra, kitchari, and dahl. After preparing and learning about the food we will all enjoy our food using the guidelines for healthy eating. Ayurvedic cooking is one of the quickest, easiest ways to improve health.
