Shirodhara: Third Eye Oil Massage and Meditation "Training"

Shirodhara is gaining in popularity in the West, finding its way into spas around America. The experience of warm, herbed oil flowing onto your head is so calming and soothing to mind and body that many problems melt away. “Shiro” means head and “dhara” means flow -- a simple term for an incredible experience. Once experienced, one remembers the path to this place when they want to return again.

Shirodhara can be given as a stand-alone treatment, in which case scents and herbs that are tridoshic, appropriate for all, will be used. When preceded by a consultation, the oil can be decocted with herbs and scents specific to any imbalance the client may be experiencing. Sometimes a series of dharas are given or they may be in conjunction with the complete cleansing of Panchakarma (description below).
