My name is Kimberly Ulrich. I am a registered nurse and a Clinical Ayurveda Specialist. I have spent my life caring for others and pursuing my idea of God. That may sound a little righteous but the truth is I have just been “looking”. When I was 19 my “looking” took me to the North of Scotland and a spiritual community called Findhorn. For 3 wonderful years I lived there and learned more about my place on this Earth we share. Then I married and was busy being a nurse and a mother for my children Adrian and Holly.

Over the years I continued to look for the right sort of medicine and the right sort of spiritual practice for me. These 2 things came to me in one package; Vedanta. Vedanta is the name of the spiritual knowledge of the Hindu tradition. These texts, which are several, include practices of faith, daily routines, medical wisdom and yoga philosophies. I always felt that the emotions, body, mind and spirit were connected. Through Ayurveda and Vedanta I have found a system that makes the link. In April, 2007 I returned from my 11th trip to India. I feel that each trip unfolds my clarity of this ancient tradition.

I received training, for 2 years, at the California College of Ayurveda in Grass Valley, California. I completed Dr. Frawley’s study course through the American Institute of Vedic Studies. I was a delegate to the Global Health Summit in Bangalore in 2002, where many alternative medicines were represented. Deepak Chopra, a well-known Allopathic doctor who uses Ayurveda in his practice, was amongst the group. During my last 2 ½ month trip to India and Austria I did pancha karma (see “Our Services”) with Dr. Sucheta Godbole. We also spent 2 weeks at Ayurveda Haus at Nexenhoff, which is an amazing school in a 200 year-old farm complex. There are some pictures in the Gallery. I have had the honor and privilege of studying and working with many renowned doctors of Ayurveda. Blessings to you.

I am very grateful for my many teachers and those that I have taught. Our plan at Ashland Ayurveda is to pass along this beautiful knowledge, one person at a time.
